Home Planet Productions is proud to present:

ALMOST, MAINE
written by John Cariani
directed by Donna McFall

Playwright John Cariani employs elements of magical  realism as   he explores the mysteries of the human heart in   this delightful new comedy. On a Friday night in the middle  of winter, residents of a small, mythical town in far northern Maine are falling in and out of love at an alarming rate. Knees are getting bruised; hearts are getting broken…but  the bruises heal and hearts mend—almost—   in what has  been described as a “charming midwinter night’s dream.”

Almost, Maine is John Cariani’s first play, and he is best known as an actor.  A frequent guest on TV shows such as Law and Order and Six degrees, he won an Outer Critics Circle Award for "Fiddler on the Roof" (Best Featured Actor in a Musical, 2004) and was nominated for Broadway’s 2004 Tony Award as Best Actor (Featured Role - Musical) in the same role.

His play "Almost, Maine" was inspired by his memories of growing up in Presque Isle, Maine. Cariani saw his first play, and first decided to become an actor, at the Portland Stage Company, and that same theater is where "Almost, Maine" had its 2004 premiere.

Almost, Maine is running July 20 - August 12, 2007

Thursdays, Fridays & Saturdays at 8 pm; Sundays at 2 pm
